All of our Big Red Buccaneer Band members are talented, but some of them chose to try out for District VIII honor band on Sept. 22, 2012.  Congratulations to the following Bucs who will represent HHS on the 2012-13 District VIII Wind Ensemble: Christa Tucker* (clarinet), Ethan Sullivan* (alto sax), Rosario Abney* (trumpet), Presley Impson* and Garrett Townsend (horn), Clint Wade* and Chris King* (trombone), and Bradley Childs*, Chris Ball*, and Isaac Brooks (percussion). The asterisks indicate that these students also qualified for second round All-State, which will be held in Pineville on Oct. 13.

Members of our Big Red Buccaneer Band who were eligible to tryout for All-State were invited to travel to Pineville on Oct. 13 for round two. Commendations to all who tried out and congratulations to those who will represent HHS at the All-State Concert in November!  Chris King earned third chair in the state (Symphonic Band) with his trombone; Presley Impson (horn--fourth chair) and Clint Wade (trombone--sixth chair) will be our Bucs in the Concert Band.
