Senior Cap and Gown Pictures will be today in the boys' gym.  Teachers have a schedule for when seniors should report to the gym.

Way2Go Wednesdays is replacing Redemption Day.  Way2Go Wednesdays is once a month instead of once every 9 weeks, doubling your opportunities to cash in your Buc Bucks.  Our first Way2Go Wednesday is tomorrow, September 19.

Deadline for 4-H enrollment forms and $8.00 dues to be turned in is Thursday the 20th.  Enrollment forms are also still available. See Mrs. Lain in H4 or Mrs. Waldron in the office.

Anyone interested in joining a Destination Imagination Team needs to stop by Ms. Raley's room (H-09) or the Library to sign up and get a packet. There will be a short information meeting on Wednesday, September 19th until 3 pm in Ms. Raley's room. Join Destination Imagination and be a part of our award winning creative thinking teams.

Color guard will practice today from 2:30-3:30 in the large JROTC classroom.

The Lady Bucs Varsity team beat Captain Shreve last night 3 sets to zero.

Ashlyn Gilmore had 3 aces and 9 kills.

Kaylee Swiger had 6 kills.

Mia McWilliams had 7 aces and 7 assists.

Taylor Williams had 3 aces and 11 assists.

Home match tonight vs Airline. Freshmen start at 4, jv at 5, and varsity at 6:00. The softball team will be selling pastalaya in the concession stand! Come out and support the lady Bucs. As always bring a student pass and your student ID to get in for free!

We will be voting today for Homecoming Court using the new online voting system! Polls will be open for everyone from 10:45-1:00 today for everyone to vote for queen.   You can log in by going to haughton.voting4schools.com

Tomorrow is our second pep rally and the class who is showing the most spirit throughout the pep rally and during Buccaneer spirit will win the spirit flag and one person from that class will get to run the spirit flag with the crew at the game.  

Activity Period is today and the following clubs are meeting:  Kitty Hawk in the small JROTC classroom, Student Council in Mrs. Marks’ room, and PBIS Mentors in Mrs. Lombardino’s room.  Tri M will NOT meet today!!

The Bucs Cross Country team opened the season up with the Choudrant Aggie invitational. Sophomore, Jadyn Hodge finished in the top 10 placing 8th in the girls race. The Boys placed 5th overall lead by Junior, Killian Hillinger who finished in the Top 10 placing 9th. Way to go Bucs !!!

Deadline to register for the PSAT is today.

Way 2 Go Wednesdays will be replacing Redemption Day starting this year.  

Way 2 Go Wednesdays will be taking place once a month and give you an opportunity to cash in those Buc Bucks you receive!

All your Buc Bucks (formerly Buc Stamps) you have received from your teachers since the beginning of the school can be used to purchase candy, chips, and can be put into a drawing to win various prizes.

Way 2 Go Wednesday will be taking place Wednesday, September 19th, and will be set up at the North Library Door (S-building side) during lunch shifts for you to cash in your Buc Bucks.

To enter the drawings, just stop by the library anytime before school, after school, between classes, or during your lunch shift to drop those Buc Bucks in the Red drawing box on the backpack table before 1 pm on Wednesday, September 19th!  An announcement of the drawing winners will be on the Thursday following Way 2 Go Wednesday!

Sign up for the PSAT  test with Mrs. Arbuckle in H1. The PSAT is scheduled for October 24th at HHS.  The PSAT is for JUNIORS who want to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.  Sophomores CAN take the test; however cannot qualify for this prestigious scholarship. The test is given only one time a year and the cost is only $16 cash.  Space is limited to 70 students. Spots are first come, first serve. $16 cash is due upon signing up and registration ends on 9/7 or until all 70 spots are filled.

Deadline to Sign up for FCA with Coach Brotherton, Coach Stafford or Mrs. Duncan is today. The cost is $20 and includes a T-shirt.

SADD registration forms are available outside Mrs. Ward’s room  S125 for students who are still interested but missed the informational meeting. Our first official meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 am in S125. We will be holding officer elections at that time.

4-H enrollment meeting will be held during Activity period Thursday in S 121.

The Cross Country team had their 3rd annual Bucs on the Run 5k this Saturday and would like to thank all that helped and participated in the event. Some results from the race in the 15yr old division Colton Allen took first and Kameron Burns 2nd for the boys. Jadyn Hodge also finished 1st in the 15yr old division for girls. Coach Drake Smith finished 1st & Mrs. Darby finished 2nd in the Adult age divisions. Killian Hillinger took 1st place overall for the 5k with a time of 18:36. Way to go Bucs.

Students:  If you are interested in being a speaker at school events this semester, please pick up a petition to speak form from Mrs. Shaw’s room (H-10) during non class times.  Petitions need to be returned to her classroom by 3 p.m. tomorrow.

The freshmen team defeated Minden yesterday 24-0.  Coleman Stafford led the Bucs offensively, throwing for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns, both caught by Joshua Sewell.  Parker Lowrie caught 5 Stafford passes as well. Elton Bryant scored the final touchdown for the Bucs on a 13 yard run.  

Defensively, the Bucs forced 3 turnovers.  Joshua Sewell and Jackson Voigt had interceptions and DJ Gladney had a fumble recovery.  

The FR play again next Tuesday at 5:00 at Benton.

The LA-801st Cadet Corps held their Fall Assumption of Command last night with Makenzi Williamson taking over the reigns of command for for the 160 cadets and passing out job and promotions to over 60 cadets.  Congrats to all our Bucs in Blue.

Freshmen bucs defeated Parkway 6-0 in FR jamboree last night.

Coleman Stafford ran for a 6 yd TD. Stafford completed Long passes to Parker Lowrie, Jackson Voigt, and Hunter Tolbert.

Zach Haley sealed the win with a sack. He also had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

We open the freshmen season with Minden next Monday at home at 5:00.

School approved football t shirts and hoodies are on sale in Coach ONishea’s room and the Fieldhouse. $15 T-shirt’s $25 hoodies

Parking passes will be sold for $25 in the parking lot before school by Coach O'Nishea. You may stop by and pick up the required paperwork outside of his classroom, but you may only turn in the paperwork and pay for the parking pass before school.

Speaking of parking…..all cars MUST be moved from inside the white lines of the student parking lot by 2:45 p.m. each day so the band can practice.  

The Bucs Cross Country team will have their 3rd annual Bucs on the run 5k race Saturday Sept 1st @ Haughton High. See any of the XC athletes for sign ups or contact Coach Drake Smith (h-4).

There will be a boy's soccer meeting Thursday, August 16th immediately after school at the field house for all boys interested in playing soccer.

Anyone interested in playing golf need to come and talk to Ms. Weaver S225  You must have your own clubs and transportation.

Come to the stadium tonight for our 3rd annual Haughton Community Spirit Night.  Meet the football team, watch the spirit groups from all area schools perform, listen to some great music from the band and enjoy some great food from different food truck vendors  The event begins at 6 p.m. and is free of charge to students. Adult admission is $5.

Yearbooks are here!  Please pick up during lunch time only in Lab 3!

If you are interested in being in the Crew, sign up and pay your $20 to Mrs. Shaw, Mrs. Weinreber, or Mrs. Duncan.  $20 includes the price of your tshirt.

All student packets and technology fees need to be turned in to your first block teacher today!

Sign up for a CLEP test with Mrs. Arbuckle in H1 this week.  If you took an AP course in 2018 and did not earn a 3 or higher on the exam, see Mrs. Arbuckle for instructions on how to get college credit for the course using the CLEP.  H1 is next to tardy central.

All girls soccer team members should get a practice gear order form from Coach Melton in TB2 or Mrs Melton in S224. Orders are due no later than August 27.  Practice Gear Order Form

Summer Reading for English I Honors is now late and must be turned in immediately if you are scheduled for the class in the Spring. Turn books in by Mr. Brown's room English building 3.
