The Haughton High School Award Winning Choir

Our choir performs at various events during the year, including Open House and Christmas and Spring concerts.  This choir also performs at various off campus locations such as the American Rose Center and, in past years, at Southern Arkansas University. They also participate in district competition each Spring and have qualified for the State festival annually since 2006 having won the sweepstakes trophy or superior concert or sight reading awards most of those years. Our choir is also proud of its record of inspiring its members to become choir directors after high school and college graduation. One of our former choir members is now the choir director at Parkway High and another one of our alumni recently held the position of choir director at Green Acres Middle School. Several other choir alumni are choir directors in states such as Idaho. Our director, William Bond, has been with us for 16 years and also leads the concert and chamber choirs at Bossier Parish Community College. Many of our students continue their education after high school at Bossier Parish Community College and continue to perform with Mr. Bond and most do so with a full tuition scholarship provided by the college choir.
